Of all the cities in the world, if I could travel to only
one, the city that has intrigued me most is Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates
(UAE). I’ve seen many pictures of Dubai,
and I always am amazed. The futuristic
architecture, the lights, and fun friendly look attracts me more and more. The skyline of Dubai is second to none, and
shows many original buildings that can be seen nowhere else. Also, I have never been a fan of the cold
winter weather in Michigan, so the warm climates of Dubai also increase its
attractiveness. If anything, my main concern about traveling to Dubai would be
the language barrier. The official
language of the UAE is Arabic, and I certainly have NO knowledge of any
Arabic. Even with this barrier I feel
like I could easily survive there for a week because English is used as a
second language and being such a large tourist city, I’m sure the citizens are
very used to American travelers. My
first experiences with Dubai actually came from an account on twitter called
“Amazing Photos”. This account posted
numerous pictures of Dubai’s buildings and attractions, and this is where it
caught my eye. Since I seen these pictures,
I looked a bit online at pictures and from then on, it was no question. I needed to visit Dubai at some point in my
life.
